| Eligible Jurors find Reasons to Award Large Money Damages |

Our research reveals that forty-six percent of resondents believe it is appropriate to award large money damages in order to correct the behavior of the responsible party for the injuries or death of the plaintiff. Another thirty percent agreed to award the plaintiff large sums of money because they were injured as a result of someone else’s behavior and their injuries were not their fault. The statement we included in the study is as follows: The most important reason to award large money damages in a lawsuit is to: (a)Award the person suing for injuries he/she received through no fault of his/her own (b) Correct the behavior of the responsible party for injuries or death of the plaintiff.
